This year, we brought the children back to Tokyo Disney Resort. I'd explored Fantasy Springs on my own when it first opened. Now we were all here together.
We chose Fantasy Springs Hotel for our first night, partly because we wanted to bring the children to stay here. We also wanted to buy the 1-Day Passport: Fantasy Springs Magic for the following day. At the time of our visit, hotel guests could buy this passport to ride the Fantasy Springs attractions repeatedly using Priority Access.
As we had the year before, we took the train from Tokyo Station to Maihama. We could use elevators all the way along our route, which made things easier with the stroller and luggage. We reached the hotel at about 3 p.m., just in time for check-in that day.

From the moment we came inside, there were details that made us pause: the curves of the balcony railings, flowers around the lamps, and storybook pictures on the walls. It felt gentle and calm compared with all the bustle in the park.

The Rose Court room we stayed in
Our room was on the Rose Court side. Opening the door, we found the same colors and details continuing inside: pale green, floral patterns and headboards that curved like vines.

The small disappointment was the view. Our room was on a lower floor, right behind a rock sculpture, so we couldn't see very much from the window. The room itself was lovely, but there wasn't much of a view to sit and enjoy from this particular spot.

We couldn't see much, but we could open the window a little and hear music drifting in from the park. It was a small detail, but it made us feel that we really were inside the world of Disney now.

Once we'd put our things away and had a little rest, we headed out for a walk in the park. We weren't trying to fit in the Fantasy Springs rides that day. We were saving those for the next day, when we'd have our passports to make the most of them.
From the hotel into the park
The hotel entrance into Fantasy Springs made coming and going very easy for us. During our visit, we also needed to show Proof of Stay, so we stopped at the Ticket Counter near the Bell Desk to collect it before heading out.

On our first day, we used an Early Evening Passport, which allowed entry from 3 p.m. on the day we visited. That ticket was for the afternoon and evening of February 11; our planned Fantasy Springs Magic day would be the following day.

We took the children for a walk around Fantasy Springs first, then headed to Mermaid Lagoon, a favorite from the previous year. This year, we went back on Jumpin’ Jellyfish, The Whirlpool, Blowfish Balloon Race and Scuttle’s Scooters.

We also tried Flying Fish Coaster this time, a small roller coaster. I thought the children might be scared at first, but once they'd tried it, they wanted another go. The staff checked their height before letting them on.

For dinner, we kept things simple at the food court in Mermaid Lagoon. There was no need to walk far, and the children could rest and refuel before we went out to see the evening lights.

After dark, Fantasy Springs took on a different atmosphere. It was very cold that day, and the evening crowds were quite thin, so we could take our time walking around and taking photos.

With the lights shining on them, the rock sculptures along the paths looked quite different from how they had in daylight. We stopped for photos at several more spots before waiting for the fireworks, which were visible from Fantasy Springs.

When we'd had enough for the day, it was just a short walk back to the hotel. Time for some rest. Tomorrow, we'd use Fantasy Springs Magic and let the children choose which rides they wanted to go back on.
