Next up is Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, the second hotel we planned to stay at.
Compared with Hotel MiraCosta at DisneySea, I found it quite a bit easier to book.
The rooms here were divided between two sides.
1️⃣ The side facing the park included Standard, Concierge and Suite rooms.
2️⃣ The side facing the hotel entrance did not overlook the park, but it made up for that with Character Rooms.
At first, I wanted to book a park-facing room so the children could watch the fireworks from inside. I had my eye on a Balcony room, where we could step outside to watch. It was probably one of the hardest room types to book.
For our dates, Disney was releasing bookings a week at a time. I needed to finish booking our first night at Hotel MiraCosta before moving on to Disneyland Hotel. In the end, I missed my chance. ...There were no Balcony rooms left. 🥲
There were still quite a few Park Grand View rooms available. But after talking with the children, we thought: we'd missed out on the room the grown-ups wanted, so why not choose the children's favorite instead?
Of course, that meant a Character Room. There were four themes to choose from: - Beauty and the Beast - Tinker Bell - Alice in Wonderland - Cinderella Room
Our little one only knew Belle and Cinderella, so we narrowed it down to those two.
🖼️ The Cinderella rooms were the largest of the Character Rooms. There was also a Concierge option that included breakfast and lounge access.
🖼️ The Beauty and the Beast rooms were in the Standard category, with two or three beds. There was about a 10-square-meter difference in room size.
In the end, I chose Beauty and the Beast. We planned to go on the rides the next morning, and I worried we'd miss our 15 minutes of Happy Entry if we stopped for breakfast first. Coming back after the rides didn't seem likely to work either, since breakfast ended at 10:00 Japan time (JST, GMT+9).
This room also cost quite a bit less, and it was a nice way to get the children excited about riding Beauty and the Beast.
Besides, we had booked a Harbor View room at DisneySea for the night before, and that certainly wasn’t cheap. We needed to save a little on this night, or we might run out of money for the rest of the trip! 😄
Our trip was still planned for early the following year when I wrote this, so I used images from the official website to show the rooms. Thank you!
